Accounting Therapy was founded in 1996 by Shea O’Neal to support QuickBooks® users with all things bookkeeping. In 1998, her daughter, Alexis Sadler, joined the team at just 17 years old—curious, determined, and ready to dig into the world of small business financials. What started as a mother-daughter duo has grown into a thriving firm with a full crew of 8 (and counting), each team member bringing their own superpowers to the table.

When I had finally gotten a good grasp on my books, the organization flowed over into operations — and this sparked my appreciation for clean books and clear processes. After selling the business, bookkeeping became a career shift I was excited about. Numbers, budgeting, and Excel spreadsheets have always been my playground—they’re what led me into bookkeeping nearly 15 years ago. My career began at an outdoor company, where I spent a decade honing my skills using QuickBooks Desktop Pro before successfully transitioning to QuickBooks Online. This transition (and the COVID era) inspired me to launch my own small bookkeeping business. After a couple of years of entrepreneurship, I found myself seeking greater fulfillment with more client interaction, organization and team collaboration. I soon found Accounting Therapy, immediately connected with Taylor and Katy, and felt welcomed by their supportive team culture.
